About
The Christian Concerns Committee focuses on following the teachings of Jesus by loving our Church and our neighbor through service, giving to the poor, caring for the sick, defending the unborn, destitute, and elderly, caring for orphans, feeding the hungry and clothing the naked.
The Committee works with various charitable agencies serving the community e.g. North Lake Food Pantry, Loaves and Fishes, Hebron House, Jeremy House, Right to Life projects and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation/Red Cloud School. They also discern which organizations should receive financial assistance from the parish, through our yellow envelopes and the “second collection” option on our WeShare online donation site. Those organizations include Little Sisters of St. Francis Home for Children, Redeem & Restore and the Missionaries of Charity (the order founded by Mother Teresa).
